I have always gone through life very carefree and kinda going with the flow. I hate routine and love changing things up, there’s no doubting that. However, I know that it is harder for others to live like that. Everything has to be in a specific order, nothing can go wrong in their plan and when it does, they hardcore stress. There’s nothing wrong with people like that, and in no way would I ever condone trying to change someone’s personality or way of living, but sometimes it is very good for someone’s character to let go and live on the edge. You only live once, right? #ThanksDrake
One tip I have for you is to make To-Do lists. This sounds very contradictory seeing as I just said to let go and do something different. However, if you have always lived close to routine, it isn’t going to be exactly easy to just give up that lifestyle completely. Baby steps are crucial. (I am so sorry that I sound like a self-help guide right now) Okay, back to the To-Do lists. I personally just love lists in general, they are a great way to organize things, but in a way that they can be changed and rearranged. Didn’t get something done on the list? No worries, just move it to the next day’s list to be completed. In addition to To-Do lists, may I suggest Done lists. They show your accomplishments in a beautiful format and prove that you are indeed productive even on your most unproductive days (I have had plenty of these) Include things like “woke up”, “brushed teeth”, little things like that. It will do a whole lot of difference in one’s world, take it from me.
This wouldn’t be a Hopetooturnt blog post without some sort of Bible guidance. Here are some verses for relieving us of fear and reminder that God is in control:
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV// For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
- Matthew 19:26 ESV// But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- Isaiah 41:10 ESV// Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
- Hebrews 2:8 ESV// Putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.
- 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV// For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
The biggest advice I could ever give someone is to let go of all of their fears, whatever they might be. You can’t be scared to live to your fullest potential. Take it a day at a time, loving every step of the way and trust yourself to make the right decisions. There is going to be changes in your routine and not everything is going to go your way, but the only way to deal with that is take it like a champ and know that you will be okay in the end.
